the project

As we will most likely never get a new edition of 7th Sea this blog is my playground for toying with the system and in the end create a "new edition" of the game.

7th Sea is obviously a trademark of Alderac entertainment.

Simply put, however you describe an attack, you always roll to hit and damage with your main weapon. realism should never detract from cool.

Yes, Yes, YES! I still use the original rules but I always say, roll the effect you are looking for then describe it however you want (as long as the effect makes sense). I describe it thus. I have Tagging and want to do something impressive to get my DD. I roll Finesse + Tagging but I describe it as, "our swords clack together several times setting up a series of very small parries, eventually I get him swinging his sword in small circles which I use to disarm him. Up goes the weapon, and when it comes down its in my hand, I hand it back with a (heh) disarming smile and say, You're not going to win the fight like that..."
